Animal Science
Program Overview
Introduction to Animal Science Programs
The Animal Science program offers comprehensive education in both Animal and Dairy Sciences, providing students with the opportunity to apply principles of animal biology, husbandry, and behavior, along with molecular biology and other life sciences, to a variety of species. This includes farm animals, exotic animals, laboratory animals, and pets.
Curriculum and Flexibility
The curriculum is highly flexible, allowing students to work closely with their faculty advisor to plan an individualized curriculum that aligns with their interests and career goals. This "hands-on, learn-by-doing" approach ensures that students gain practical experience by working with animals of several species on a regular basis. Through this program, students develop into effective problem-solvers and leaders, well-prepared for professional and graduate schools, animal production and management, animal and dairy food processing, and numerous other career opportunities.
