Program Overview
Introduction to the SUTD Technology Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP)
The SUTD Technology Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) aims to nurture a new generation of entrepreneurial leaders and innovators who will exhibit the values and mindsets of Leadership, Innovation, Venture, and Engineering (LIVE), coupled with a global perspective.
Programme Overview
The programme is conducted over 10 terms, providing students with global exposure and the opportunity to be immersed in the entrepreneurial culture and environment in different countries/continents. The programme culminates in SUTD's signature team-based Capstone and a Master of Science (MSc) project in Technology Entrepreneurship.
Programme Structure
The initial years of STEP are similar to SUTD's undergraduate programme. After Term 5, students will spend a year overseas and be immersed in the entrepreneurial culture and environment in different countries. They will then return to complete their last 3 terms of studies and graduate with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree.
Academic Calendar
The programme's academic calendar is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in technology entrepreneurship. The calendar includes:
- The initial years of the programme, which are similar to SUTD's undergraduate programme
- A year overseas, where students will be immersed in the entrepreneurial culture and environment in different countries
- The final 3 terms of studies, which will culminate in a bachelor's degree and a master's degree
Programme Courses
STEP students are required to complete the following courses and programmes:
- STARTsomething@SUTD a three-term series programme that includes:
- IDEATEsomething
- BUILDsomething
- LAUNCHsomething
- Entrepreneurship course at SUTD
- Courses currently offered by partner universities, including:
- University of California Berkeley Extension
- Overseas work immersion
- Master of Science (MSc) project in Technology Entrepreneurship
Graduate Degrees
Students will graduate concurrently with two degrees from SUTD:
- A Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science in one of the five majors
- A Master of Science in Technology Entrepreneurship

The programme has partnerships with several universities, including:

- Zhejiang University School of Management
- Xi'an Jiaotong University
