Introduction to the Freshmore English Programme (FEP)
The Freshmore English Programme (FEP) is an English module offered to selected freshmore students during term 1. This 4-week module consists of 4 hours of lessons per week, conducted twice a week for 2 hours at a time.
Programme Details
The FEP is a Pass/Fail module, and the grades will appear on the student's transcript upon graduation from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). It is a requirement for students to pass the FEP in order to graduate.
Programme Objectives
During the module, students will have the opportunity to:
- Learn essay writing skills and techniques
- Develop close reading and critical reading skills
- Learn textual analysis
- Write critical responses to academic-based articles
Programme Structure
The FEP is designed to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in English, with a focus on academic writing and critical reading skills. The module is structured to accommodate the needs of freshmore students, with lessons conducted twice a week for 2 hours at a time.
