Program Overview


Introduction to CiMS

The CSA-iTrust Masters Scholarship (CiMS) Programme is designed to cultivate and develop a pool of cybersecurity professionals in Singapore. This initiative is funded by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA).


Overview

The CiMS Programme aims to support students pursuing a career in cyber and/or critical infrastructure-related fields upon graduation. The programme is open to students enrolled in the SUTD Master of Science in Security by Design (MSSD), Masters in Engineering (MEng), and Master of Science in Design and Artificial Intelligence for Enterprise (MDAIE) programme.


Eligibility

To be eligible for the CiMS Programme, students must:


  • Be Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Be enrolled in SUTD Master of Science in Security by Design (MSSD), Masters in Engineering (MEng), and Master of Science in Design and Artificial Intelligence for Enterprise (MDAIE) programme (full- or part-time)
  • Have expressed interest in pursuing a career in cyber and/or critical infrastructure-related fields upon graduation
  • Have a good academic standing and possess a bachelor's degree in computer science or any branch of engineering, or a bachelor's degree in a related discipline with two years ICT-industry experience
  • Not be supported by any other scholarships for the same postgraduate course

The scholarship covers:


  • Tuition fees of the masters course
  • University's Compulsory Miscellaneous Fees
  • Monthly stipend of S$3,600 (full-time students only)
  • Laptop (up to S$3,000, full-time students only)
  • Rental usage of iTrust testbeds
  • Cash award for scholars who maintain excellent academic results
  • Support for publications, attending conferences, and overseas exchange

Scholarship Requirements

Scholars are required to:


  • Maintain a cGPA > 4.0
  • Serve a bond period (6-14 months) upon graduation from any of the 3 postgraduate programmes, with the bond period depending on the quantum of scholarship received

Timeline and Application

Application for the scholarship is granted to students who are accepted into any of the 3 SUTD postgraduate courses (MSSD, MEng, or MDAIE). Shortlisted applicants may be invited for an interview with the scholarship selection committee. The decision of the scholarship selection committee is final.
