Program Overview

Master Programme in Georesources Engineering

The Master Programme in Georesources Engineering is a unique two-year program in Europe, providing students with cutting-edge knowledge in georesources engineering, geometallurgy, and processing of primary mineral ore resources and secondary resources from metal recycling.

Description

The program is a joint European collaboration between Luleĺ University (Sweden), Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg (Germany), Université de Ličge (Belgium), and the Université de Lorraine (France), along with local industrial partners. The objective is to provide world-leading education and research in resources engineering.

Programme Structure

The master program is 2 years (120 ECTS) and consists of specially designed courses at the partner universities. Each student travels between the participating universities, studying with them, and finally choosing where to write the master thesis. The program begins with the first term at the University of Ličge, which is also responsible for the admission process.

Career Opportunities

The master program gives students an international education in the area of mining, mineral processing, and metallurgy. Opportunities for attractive and challenging work/R&D in international mining, metallurgy, and technology companies are available. The program's internationally renowned diplomas provide an excellent foundation for students aiming for a research career.

Entry Requirements

  • Bachelors degree of minimum 180 ECTS with at least 60 ECTS in the area of Physics, Chemistry, Geology, or Environmental, Minerals or Metallurgical Engineering or similar.
  • At least 22.5 ECTS in Mathematics at university level is required.
  • Good knowledge in English, equivalent to English 6.

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure is based on academic qualifications, quality, and quantity aspects.
