Program Overview

The Theater Academy at Luleň University of Technology educates actors for theater, film, TV, and radio. The main subject is scenic performance, but the education also includes technical subjects such as voice and speech, body and movement, and singing.

Program Details

• The program provides students with knowledge and skills to work independently on scenic tasks, both in ensemble and on their own.
• The Theater Academy in Luleň started in the fall of 1996 as a unique collaboration between Luleň University of Technology and Norrbottensteatern.
• The school is located in direct connection to the theater, which gives students natural contact with professional theater workers and daily theater work.

Practical Experience

• Students complete a practical assignment at the theater during the fall semester of the second year.
• Actors from the theater teach periodically at the school.
• The academy also organizes joint workshops, and students often collaborate with the independent group Lule Stassteater and Norrbottensteatern outside of school work.
