Music Performance - Master of Arts
The Music Performance - Master of Arts program is designed for individuals who wish to deepen their knowledge in music and develop their own musical ability and identity. This one-year master's program is taught in English and comprises 60 credits.
Program Description
The program is individually structured, allowing students to have great influence over content and working methods. Students are encouraged to build their own networks, creating valuable contacts for the future. Parts of the education are common for all specializations, and some parts are shared with the Two-Year Master Programme. Approximately 10 weeks of the academic year consist of concentrated 'Master Weeks', in which both program instructors and guest instructors participate.
Specializations
The program offers three specializations:
- Composition: This specialization is aimed at students who wish to develop their artistic profile as a composer by working on various projects with professional ensembles, musicians, choirs, and orchestras.
- Conducting: This specialization is aimed at students who wish to develop and deepen their artistic and technical skills as a conductor, working on various projects with professional ensembles, musicians, choirs, and orchestras.
- Musician: This specialization is aimed at students who wish to develop their artistic abilities and identity in various musical and artistic constellations, welcoming students who are instrumentalists/singers, as well as those combining this with other roles.

- Musical Performance (22.5 credits)
- Compulsory courses:
- Project Degree - Music Performance (15 credits)
- Musical Performance - Method and documentation of artistic process (7.5 credits)
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the program, applicants must have:
- A Bachelor of Arts in music of minimum 180 ECTS or equivalent knowledge
- Passed admission test
- General exemption for knowledge in Swedish is allowed
- Good knowledge in English, corresponding to English 6
Selection Procedure
The selection procedure is based on merit evaluation of degree project and course content in terms of quality and quantity, as well as a ranking skill test to assess the applicant's previous knowledge of musicality, technical ability, and artistic ability.
