Trends in Recent Young Adult Fiction in English
The course gives students the opportunity to explore recently published young adult literature in English. Students will become familiar with different types of young adult literature, such as dystopian fiction, fantasy, romance, and coming-of-age novels.
Course Description
Students will learn more about current trends within the genre, particularly how topics such as social justice, climate change, and intersectional identity can be addressed in and through young adult literature. They will also develop an understanding of different definitions of the concept of youth and how these are expressed in newly published English-language young adult literature. This course is intended for anyone with an interest in young adult literature who wants to learn more about new developments within the genre.

Entry Requirements
To meet the general entry requirements for first cycle studies, students must have successfully completed upper secondary education and have documented skills in English language. Exemption for Swedish A and B / Swedish 1-3. + Swedish upper secondary school course English 6. Or: English level 2.
