Introduction to Lean Construction (grund)

The Lean Construction (grund) program is designed for working professionals in the Swedish construction sector, aiming to enhance their competence in modern working methods for management and control in the construction process.

Course Content

The course provides the basics of Lean Construction, including both theory and practical application. Participants will gain insight into applicable working methods with concrete methods and tools aimed at increasing productivity and sustainability on construction sites. The course is based on the Flipped classroom concept, where participants study theoretical knowledge on their own and seminars deepen knowledge through reflections and discussions.


Course Structure

  • Participants are expected to work independently with different modules on LTU's digital learning platform, totaling 34 hours, involving reading texts, watching films, and listening to podcasts related to the subject.
  • Participants will engage in online discussions to enrich their knowledge and exchange experiences with other course participants.
  • There are four planned online meetings via Zoom, each lasting 90 minutes, moderated by Kajsa Simu, aiming to give participants the opportunity to ask questions, reflect on the studied material, and share their own experiences.
  • The course concludes with an individual assignment where participants apply and demonstrate the knowledge they have acquired during the course.

Requirements for Passing

To pass the course, it is necessary to participate in all online meetings, complete all sections on Canvas, and submit the individual assignment. This requirement ensures that participants have a basic understanding and mastery of the course content, as well as the opportunity to interact and learn from both the course material and their fellow participants.
