Course Description
The course provides fundamental knowledge of the thermal impact of fires on different materials and structures. The course aims to enable students to calculate heat transfer to surfaces exposed to hot gases and radiation from fires. The course also includes simple methods for estimating the time it takes for different materials to ignite, as well as methods for calculating the temperatures that occur in structures exposed to fires.
