Applied Operations Research
The course provides basic knowledge of Operations Research, i.e., the application of modern mathematical modeling for planning and analysis of various unit operations in a system so all operations are performed at the right time with optimal cost.

Course Content
The course includes the topics of:
- Problem modeling (art of modelling, and development and construction of models)
- Linear programming (formulation and graphical solution to different optimization problems, Simplex method, and transportation model)
- Network problems (including PERT-CPM)
- Queuing models (basic elements of queuing model and queuing decision models)
Teaching Method
The students will work individually and in groups to apply Operations Research techniques to solve real-life problems.
Entry Requirements
To meet the general entry requirements for first cycle studies, you must have successfully completed upper secondary education and have documented skills in English language. Exemption for Swedish A and B / Swedish 1-3. and M0043M Mathematics II - Calculus and linear algebra or corresponding course and proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English 6/level 2.

The selection is based on 1-165 credits.
