Program Overview
Introduction to the ASEAN Cyber Shield Exchange Program
The ASEAN Cyber Shield Exchange Program is a student exchange program funded by the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund and carried out by universities in ASEAN countries that have signed an exchange agreement with KNU's CAMPUS ASEAN Cybershield Exchange Student Program Project Team.
Objective
The program aims to equip students with the necessary skills to become cybersecurity experts who can effectively tackle the challenges faced by both public and private sectors in their country, as well as in the global arena.
Field
The program focuses on information security and cybersecurity expertise, as well as expertise in responding to cyber infringements/fraud, among other areas.

Process
Admission Procedure

Curriculum
The program includes the following courses:
- Introduction to Information Security
- Introduction to Cybercrime and Digital Forensics
- Information Security Policy
- Global Cooperation in Cybersecurity
- Cyber Risk and Incident Response I, II
- Network Security I, II
- System Security I, II
- Basic Korean Language
Eligibility
To be eligible for the program, students must:
- Be a full-time junior or senior university student from an ASEAN country that has signed an exchange agreement with KNU's Office of International Affairs
- Major in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent majors
- Be enrolled in their own university while studying at Kangwon National University
- Be able to attend lectures in English
- Be eligible for overseas travel
Documents to be submitted
The following documents must be submitted:
- Exchange Student Application (online application link)
- Letter of introduction with study plan (provided CV form file)
- A copy of valid Passport (attached as a file)
- Academic transcripts (attached as a file)
- Certificate of enrollment (attached as a file)
- Recommendation letter from the Office of International Affairs or an affiliated department (attached as a file)
Financial Support
The program provides the following financial support:
- Tuition and fees: Application, admission, and tuition fees are waived
- Scholarship: Round-trip airfare and dormitory fees are covered
Note
Please note that the ASEAN CS-ESP is an undergraduate exchange student program. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate instead of credit exchange. The certificate proves that the participant has completed the ASEAN CS-ESP for one year.
