Major in Advanced Metals and Materials Engineering
Program Overview
Introduction to the Major in Advanced Metals and Materials Engineering
The Major in Advanced Metals and Materials Engineering is based on engineering applied to various fields, such as element parts and the material itself, by preparing, processing, and manufacturing material utilizing basic science such as physics and chemistry. This major links science and engineering by dealing with the control of bonding or combinations between atoms, changes of the manufacturing process, the correlation between microstructures and properties of materials to develop new application materials.
Program Overview
The program teaches the basic concepts of fundamental components of materials such as electrons and atoms, as well as engineering techniques applied to modern industries, including material synthesis, manufacturing processes, and physical properties evaluation. The aim is to educate students who will be responsible for the next generation of new advanced materials as engineers with a broad knowledge of metal material engineering theory and technology.
Campus and Location
The Major in Advanced Metals and Materials Engineering is located at the Gangneung campus of Kangwon National University, in the Engineering Hall 2, No. 318 (N12- No.318).
