Art Management

The Art Management program is an interdisciplinary field of study that combines the humanities and social sciences. The program focuses on the systematic development of specialized areas of inquiry, with an emphasis on core theories and methodologies.

Curriculum

The curriculum for the Art Management program includes:


  • Master's degree: 25 credits, including mandatory courses such as Thesis Research, Research Ethics and Academic Writing, Korean Language 1, and Korean Language 2.
  • PhD: 37 credits, including mandatory courses such as Thesis Research, Research Ethics and Academic Writing, Korean Language 1, and Korean Language 2.
  • Integrated Master's-Doctoral Program: 61 credits, including mandatory courses such as Thesis Research, Research Ethics and Academic Writing, Korean Language 1, and Korean Language 2.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate from the Art Management program, students must meet the following requirements:


  • Master's degree:
    • Complete 25 credits
    • Pass the Graduate Thesis Qualification Examination (Major Examination and Foreign Language Examination)
    • Complete a master's thesis or substitute it with one of the following options: publication of a paper in an academic journal, completion of an additional 6 credits and submission of a research report, or patent registration
    • Meet the language requirements: TOPIK Level 2 or higher, completion of Kangwon National University Korean Language Course Level 3 or higher, or departmental language exam
  • PhD:
    • Complete 37 credits
    • Pass the Graduate Thesis Qualification Examination (Major Examination and Foreign Language Examination)
    • Complete a doctoral dissertation
    • Meet the language requirements: TOPIK Level 3 or higher, completion of Kangwon National University Korean Language Course Level 4 or higher, or departmental language exam

Scholarship

The university offers scholarships to students based on their language proficiency and academic performance. The scholarship exemption ratio is as follows:


  • First-year and transfer students:
    • TOPIK 3: 40% of Tuition Type 2
    • TOPIK 4: 50% of Tuition Type 2
    • TOPIK 5 or higher: 2/3 of Tuition Type 2
  • Enrolled students:
    • Completion of at least 6 credits and meeting one of the following conditions: GPA of 3.5 or higher in the previous semester, or cumulative GPA of 4.0 or higher, and completion of at least 80% of the required graduation credits stipulated in the academic regulations
    • TOPIK 4 or higher: 30% of Tuition Type 2
