What You Will Study
- Academic Researcher: This module enables you to gain valuable experience within a sports or fitness setting of your choice. You will develop personal and professional skills relevant to future employment.
- Behaviour Change in Communities Theory, Policy, and Practice: This module provides knowledge and understanding of behavior change related to health. It introduces a range of sociological and psychological theories and models relevant to behavior change, critically discussing their strengths and limitations, their application to health improvement and physical activity promotion strategies, and the practical challenges.
- Developing, Leading, and Managing Self and Others: You will demonstrate personal and professional development by meeting the practical competencies required in the National Occupational Standards for Youth Work: Developing, Leading, and Managing Self and Others.
- Strategic Management: This module introduces a systematic approach to studying strategic management, building on a variety of ideas and theories ranging from industrial organizational theory to institutional economics. It outlines the essentials of strategic management and provides an introduction to this important field of business management.
- Independent Discovery: This module allows you to conduct an independent study. After selecting an environment of your choice, you will collect, analyze, and interpret data from within it, turning all the hard work into a structured written format for presentation.
Admission Requirements and Application
For admission to the Level 6 course, you must meet the entry requirements and be accepted by the course tutor by providing documentary evidence that you have achieved a qualification at Level 5 or higher in a relevant discipline and have the necessary background.
Teaching and Assessment
A wide range of assessment methods will be used to test your knowledge and understanding. These include essays, portfolios, practical sessions, reports, presentations, online discussions, and case study assessments. You will be assessed on your ability to describe, explain, and analyze the role that football plays in the community. This is achieved by investigating previously published research, individually collected field data, and specialized computer software and tools.
