Master's degree in Optics
Program Overview
Introduction to the Master's Program in Optics
The Master's program in Optics was first introduced in 2007. The program has a faculty consisting of 4 professors, several associate professors, and lecturers with doctoral degrees. Many of the professors have doctoral supervisor qualifications and hold academic positions such as directors of national first- and second-level associations, members of professional committees, and reviewers for domestic and international authoritative journals.
Research and Achievements
In the past three years, the program has undertaken numerous national and municipal projects, including National Natural Science Foundation projects, National Key R&D Projects, Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission projects, and Shanghai Municipal Education Commission projects. The program has also completed several technological research and development projects commissioned by enterprises. Faculty members have published over 200 papers in domestic and international authoritative journals, including more than 100 papers indexed by Sci. Additionally, they have published three monographs and textbooks and applied for and obtained multiple invention patents and utility model patents.
Program Overview
The program focuses on applied optics as its primary development direction, aiming to cultivate application-oriented optical talents with a solid theoretical foundation. The graduates of this program possess strong competitiveness and are suited for theoretical research, technological development, and educational work in various fields, including optical detection, optoelectronic technology, new materials, new energy, and environmental protection.
Research Directions
- Optical testing theory and technology
- Research on optical testing methods and instruments
- Optoelectronic thin films and optical sensing technology
- Study on the preparation and properties of optoelectronic thin films
- Optical properties of new materials
- Investigation of the optical characteristics of new materials
- Interaction between light and matter
- Theoretical and experimental research on the interaction between light and matter
The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in optics, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue careers in this field. With its strong faculty, research opportunities, and focus on applied optics, the Master's program in Optics is an excellent choice for those interested in pursuing advanced studies in this area.
