Introduction to the China Modern History Course

The "China Modern History" course is a compulsory ideological and political theory course for undergraduate students in Chinese universities, as stipulated by the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China and the Ministry of Education. This course primarily focuses on the history of China since the modern era, covering the country's resistance to foreign invasions, struggle for national independence, overthrow of reactionary rule, achievement of people's liberation, construction of a new China, and implementation of comprehensive reform and opening-up.


Course Objectives and Content

The main objective of this course is to help students understand the history and development of modern China, enabling them to recognize the historical process and inherent laws of China's social and revolutionary development. By studying this course, students will gain a deep understanding of how China chose Marxism, the Communist Party, socialism, and reform and opening-up.
