Program Overview

Introduction to the University Program

The university program focuses on cultivating innovative abilities in industrial design, with a emphasis on machine and electronic product design. The program aims to foster students' capabilities in applying industrial design theories and knowledge to create innovative machine and electronic products.

Program Overview

The program is designed to develop students' skills in:

  • Mechanical product structure design
  • Product styling design
  • Machine and electronic product human-machine interface and engineering design
  • Product visual transmission design
  • Computer-aided product design

The program consists of seven specialized course groups, five teaching platforms, two open practice bases, and four teaching practice laboratories.

Key Features of the Program

  1. Innovative Ability Cultivation: The program focuses on cultivating students' innovative abilities, including innovative thinking, methods, and design tool usage skills.
  2. Systematic Approach: The program adopts a systematic approach to deconstruct industrial design innovative abilities into multiple sub-abilities and constructs corresponding course groups and experimental practice groups.
  3. Teaching Modes: The program employs flexible and diverse teaching modes to emphasize the cultivation of students' innovative thinking, methods, and design tool usage skills.

Research and Achievements

The program has achieved significant research and practical results, including:

  • 26 awards in design competitions (15 provincial and 2 national)
  • 9 external patent applications
  • 6 personal honors for team members
  • 3 school-level teaching achievement awards
  • 8 published research papers
  • 3 compiled textbooks

The program's research outcomes have been applied and recognized by other institutions, such as Xi'an Jiaotong University.

Teaching Units

The program is supported by the following teaching units:

  • Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Department
  • Mechanical and Electronic Engineering Department
  • Engineering Machinery and Equipment Department
  • Intelligent Manufacturing and Robotics Department
  • Highway Equipment Department

Program Achievements and Recognition

The program has been recognized for its excellence, with the "Product Design" course being awarded the "Provincial Excellent Course" title in 2007. The program's research and achievements have also been recognized and applied by other institutions.
