IPPE and APPE
Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE)
The IPPE program introduces students to the pharmacy profession and the role of the pharmacist in caring for patients. The program begins in the P1 year and ends in the Fall of the P3 year, providing students with approximately 300 hours of experience in community and institutional settings.
Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE)
The APPE program comprises almost 30% of the curriculum and provides opportunities for students to practice in top healthcare facilities across the state of Tennessee. Students complete a total of 10 rotations for 1760 hours of pharmacy practice experience, including required and elective rotations.
