Biology (Ph.D.) Program

The Biology doctoral program at Howard University's Graduate School is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in contemporary biological sciences. The program has two main areas of research specialization: Cellular and Molecular Biology, and Ecological, Environmental, and Systematic Biology.

  • Chemistry (college-level Chemistry courses with labs including a course in Organic Chemistry, 12 semester credit hours)
  • Mathematics (college-level courses, 6 semester credit hours including Precalculus)
  • Physics (college-level courses with labs, including Pre-Calculus, 8 semester credit hours)
