Program Overview

The Design Theory and Methods in Architecture program, led by Professor Yoon, Jae-shin, focuses on the study of architectural design theory and methodology, with a particular emphasis on the planning and design of apartment houses and traditional Korean architecture.

Introduction

The purpose of design theory and methodology in the architectural design process is explored, with a focus on the composition of apartment houses, traditional architecture, and architectural space. Traditional Korean architecture is investigated through the study of furniture from ancient Buddhist temples, as well as the diagnosis and vision of the evolution of hanok.
