Introduction to the President's Ambassadors Program
The President's Ambassadors Program is a unique group of students selected from the 40,800 students at California State University, Long Beach to serve and represent the University in multiple capacities. President's Ambassadors serve as official student representatives on behalf of the University and the University President at a variety of campus and community functions.
Program Description
President's Ambassadors showcase the excellence of CSULB to the University Community and are role models of professionalism, hospitality, character, and Beach Pride. The program is challenging, exciting, and a great way to gain valuable skills. Students with experience in public speaking, leadership, and a desire to give back to The Beach may consider applying.
Recruitment Process
Each spring, the President's Ambassador program looks for enthusiastic, altruistic, motivated, and poised students to represent the University. Necessary skills include excellent interpersonal communication, a heart to serve, public speaking, as well as leadership skills and experience in professional settings.
Application Requirements
- Be a matriculated CSULB undergraduate student in good standing (not on academic or judicial probation)
- Be enrolled in and maintain at least 6 units
- Be able to commit at least one year to the program
- A complete application includes:
- One-page formal application
- One additional page of short answer responses
- Resume highlighting campus involvement, leadership roles, service to the community, and work experience
- Two reference forms & letters of recommendations completed by:
- A CSULB professor/staff
- An off-campus community member

Selection Process
Selection is based on a competitive process. The recruitment process includes:
- Applications due in March
- Recruitment interviews in March (phase one)
- Recruitment social mixer in April (phase two) Final selections will be made following the social mixer, and applicants will be notified by email.
