Program Overview

The Chemical Engineering program requires applicants to demonstrate specific qualifications for admission.

Admission Criteria

To be considered for admission to the major, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Minimum GPA: 2.5
• Minimum lower-division preparation with a Grade C or better in the following courses:
  • MATH 122: Calculus I
  • MATH 123: Calculus II
  • PHYS 151: Mechanics and Heat
  • CHEM 111A: General Chemistry

General Education Requirements

In addition to major preparation courses, applicants must complete the following general education courses:

• English Composition
• Oral Communication

Recommended Preparation Courses for Transfer Applicants

Transfer applicants are recommended to take the following courses with a Grade of C or better:

• PHYS 152: Electricity and Magnetism
• CHEM 111B: General Chemistry
