Program Overview

Business Economics B.A. + M.A. Program

The Business Economics B.A. + M.A. program is an expedited degree program offered by the Economics Department. This program allows students to complete the requirements for both the Business Economics B.A. and Economics M.A. degrees by double-counting ten units of three M.A. courses towards both degrees.

What is the Beach EDGE Program for Business Economics?

The Beach EDGE program is designed for students who want to pursue a graduate degree in Economics. Students enrolled in this program will complete the requirements for both the Business Economics B.A. and Economics M.A. degrees.

Double-Counting of Courses

Beach EDGE students in the Economics Department may double-count ten units of three M.A. courses towards both their B.A. and M.A. degrees:

  • ECON 510: Advanced Microeconomics (3 units)
  • ECON 585: Econometrics I (4 units)
  • ECON 587: Research Methods in Economics (3 units)

These courses must be completed in residence at CSULB. Transfer courses cannot double-count, and other graduate classes cannot count for B.A. requirements.
