Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance is a professional degree program designed to prepare graduates for positions as performers and/or choreographers in dance companies, musical theatre, film, and television. The program also prepares students for entry into Master of Fine Arts programs in Dance.

• 7 unit performance/production requirement:
  • Two units from DANC 181A, DANC 181B, DANC 381A, DANC 381B, DANC 481A, or DANC 481B
  • Five units from DANC 180A, DANC 180B, DANC 295, DANC 380A, DANC 380B, DANC 480A, DANC 480B, or DANC 495
• 25 unit technique requirement:
  • Fifteen units from DANC 152, DANC 252, DANC 312A, DANC 312B, DANC 412A, or DANC 412B; 3 must be earned from DANC 412A or DANC 412B
  • Ten units from DANC 154, DANC 254, DANC 314A, DANC 314B, DANC 316A, DANC 316B, DANC 414A, or DANC 414B; 4 must be earned from DANC 314A, DANC 314B, DANC 414A, or DANC 414B
• 6 General Education units:

Admission Criteria

All students wishing to pursue the BFA in Dance must demonstrate intermediate/advanced technical skill in dance by audition.
