Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with an Option in Exercise Science is a comprehensive program designed for students interested in careers in exercise physiology, biomechanics, or motor control/learning, as well as those contemplating graduate work in these areas or one of the health professions.


Program Details

  • The program was recommended by the Academic Senate on September 28, 1995, received concurrence of the President on October 13, 1995, and was approved by the Chancellor's Office on November 10, 1995.
  • A minimum of 132 units are required for graduation.

Fieldwork and Internship Requirements

  • A fieldwork, field experience, or internship course requires current certification in First Aid (ARC-Standard, Advanced, EMT or equivalent) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ARC-Community, Professional Rescuer; AHA-Level B, Level C, or equivalent) prior to enrollment.
