Introduction to the 2020 National Publicly-Funded Overseas Study English Autumn Training Program

The 2020 National Publicly-Funded Overseas Study English Autumn Training Program is designed to enhance the English proficiency of publicly-funded overseas study personnel and improve the effectiveness of their studies abroad. The program is a collaborative effort between the Beijing Language University's Department of Education for Overseas Study Personnel and our institution.

• Meet the language requirements for national publicly-funded overseas study projects

Training Details

Training Content

The program will cover a range of topics, including:

• English language proficiency training
• Cultural adaptation and adjustment
• Academic writing and research skills

Training Methods

1. The program will be taught by experienced English language instructors from Beijing Language University and our institution.
2. The training will be conducted in a semi-full-time format, with a total of 350 hours of classroom instruction.
3. Participants who miss more than 30 hours of classes will not be eligible to take the final exam.

Training Schedule

1. The program will run from September 2020 to December 2020.
2. The intensive training period will be from September 18, 2020, to September 30, 2020 (13 days), with classes taught by English language experts from Beijing Language University.
3. After the intensive period, classes will be held every week, with 16 hours of instruction per week (tentatively scheduled for Wednesday afternoons and all day Saturday).

Training Location

The program will be held at the Berlin Campus.

Admission Requirements

Eligibility

1. Individuals who have been selected for national publicly-funded overseas study projects but have not yet met the language requirements.
2. Individuals who plan to apply for national publicly-funded overseas study projects in the next two years.
3. Other individuals who need to improve their English language skills.

Admission Criteria

1. Participants must pass the entrance examination, which will be administered by Beijing Language University.
2. The entrance examination will test listening, reading, grammar, and vocabulary skills.
3. The minimum passing score is 45 (including listening), with a minimum listening score of 13.

Exemptions

Individuals who have taken the PETS-5 exam or the IELTS exam within the past two years and have achieved a score of 40 or higher (PETS-5) or 5.5 or higher (IELTS) may be exempt from the entrance examination.

Tuition Fees

1. The tuition fee for the program is 9,380 yuan per person, which includes registration fees, examination fees, and textbook fees.
2. If a participant is unable to complete the program due to unforeseen circumstances, the tuition fee will be refunded at a rate of 50 yuan per hour for the classes that have been attended.

Application Procedure

1. Interested individuals should fill out the application form and submit it electronically by August 31, 2020.
2. The application form can be obtained from the program website.

Final Examination

1. The final examination will be administered by Beijing Language University at the end of the program.
2. Participants who pass the final examination will receive a certificate of completion, which is valid for two years.
3. Participants who do not pass the final examination will have one opportunity to retake the exam at the next available session (June 2021). The retake fee is 400 yuan for the full exam or 100 yuan for a single subject.
