Program Overview
The Writing for Film, Television and Games Diploma is a one-year program offered by the Vancouver Film School. Upon successful completion of this diploma, students can apply to the Combined Honours BA English and Film Studies program within the Faculty of Arts at Laurier's Waterloo campus through an articulation agreement.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for this program, students must have:
- A final average of 75% from the Writing for Film, Television and Games diploma program
- A minimum grade of 60% in a 4U English course (or equivalent)
- Proof of graduation from the diploma program
Transfer Credits
Students admitted to the Combined Honours BA English and Film Studies program through this pathway will receive:
- 1.0 credit: English (100 level)
- 1.0 credit: Film Studies (100 level)
- 2.5 credits: Interdisciplinary (100 level)
- FS374: Screenwriting and Directing
Degree Completion
A total of 15.0 Laurier credits are required to graduate from the Combined Honours BA English and Film Studies program. Students will receive 5.0 transfer credits from the Writing for Film, Television and Games diploma program.
