Theology (MA) and Divinity (MDiv): Spiritualities and Community Engagement
The Master of Arts (MA) in Theology and Master of Divinity (MDiv) double degree can be completed in three years of full-time study, or the equivalent in part-time studies. This program is designed for those who want to better prepare for further academic studies or bivocational ministry.
Program Overview
The MA/MDiv double-degree program offers two fields of study: Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy, and Spiritualities and Community Engagement. The Spiritualities and Community Engagement stream covers the Bible, church history, systematics, ethics, and practical theology, allowing students to focus on spiritual growth and development, a comprehensive research project, or faith-based professional development.
Customize Your Learning Experience
Within the first term, students can choose between the contextual and coursework options, and between two specific fields of study: Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy or Spiritualities and Community Engagement.
Contextual Option
The contextual option is for those preparing for congregational ministry, including congregational placements, community placements, and a full-year internship.
Coursework Option
The coursework option is for those who are either already working in a ministerial setting or are preparing for non-congregational ministry, allowing students to take additional electives and focus on coursework in areas of particular interest.
Program Structure
The MA/MDiv double-degree program normally involves three years of full-time studies, or the equivalent in part-time studies. Each student is required to complete a minimum of 31 half-credit courses or their equivalent.

Admission Requirements
Applicants are required to hold an Honours (4-year) Bachelor's degree from any field, with a minimum GPA of B.

Deadlines are the same for all applicants, with the application process and uploading of supplemental documentation typically taking two weeks. To avoid disappointment, please apply early.
