Program Overview
Centre for Public Safety and Well-Being
The Centre for Public Safety and Well-Being offers various programs, including the Positive Psychology and Education Certificates, Mental Health Crisis Response Education and Applied Training Program, and Police Supervisor Certificate.
Positive Psychology and Education Certificates
The Positive Psychology and Education Certificates are designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of positive psychology and its applications in education.
Positive Psychology
The Positive Psychology program consists of multiple modules, with sessions typically starting in Spring and Fall. The program schedule and refund policies are as follows:
- Registration remains open until the Friday following the start of Module 1 of each session, if seats are still available.
- Refunds and withdrawals are subject to fees based on the following schedule:
- Up to 15 days before the start of the first module: Refund less 10% administrative fee.
- One to 14 days before the start of the first module: Refund minus 20% administrative fee.
- First day of the first module: Once the course has been accessed, no refund.
- For Modules 2-5, access is provided up to one week prior to the course start date, and refunds are based on the access date of Module 2.
- Up to 15 days before access to the second module: Refund of modules 2-5 less 10% administrative fee.
- One to 14 days before access to the second module: Refund of modules 2-5 less 20% administrative fee.
- First day of the second module: No refund.
Positive Education
The Positive Education program has the following refund policy:
- Up to 15 days before the start of the course: Refund less 10% administrative fee.
- One to 14 days before the start of the course: Refund minus 20% administrative fee.
- First day of the course: Once the course has been accessed, no refund.
Deferrals
Deferral policies for the programs are as follows:
- Positive Psychology: Deferrals can be arranged up to one year from the start date of Module 1. Request to defer must be received within one week of the course start date.
- Positive Education: Students who are unable to complete the course within the 16-week allotted time should contact the centre to discuss possible arrangements.
Funding Opportunities
As a recognized training provider, government funding may be available for the centre's programs, offsetting up to 2/3 of the program fee.
