Visiting PhD Students Training Program
The Visiting PhD Students Training Program (ViS) is designed to provide PhD students from other institutions with the opportunity to attend SISSA Basic PhD Courses and Advanced Courses. The program includes:
- Financial support toward living costs for selected students
- Opportunities to attend Basic PhD Courses and Advanced Courses
Eligibility and Application
To be eligible for the Visiting PhD Students Training Program, students must:
- Be PhD students from other institutions
- Provide required information, including:
- Starting and ending time of the period of stay
- Courses to be attended
- Curriculum Vitae, including Master and Bachelor degree, and the list of exams and marks
- Name of the institution where the applicant is doing the PhD or will be doing starting from the academic year
- Name of one or more senior scientists that will send letters of recommendations
Deadlines
The deadlines for applying to the Visiting PhD Students Training Program are:
- September 27, 2025 (for attending the first term Basic Courses)
- November 30, 2025 (for attending the second term Basic Courses)
- February 28, 2026 (for attending the third term Basic Courses)
Course Information
A complete list of courses for the current academic year, including syllabuses, credits, duration, and schedule, is available. Note that for Italian and EU students, Basic Courses are assigned with a number of credits according to the ECTS system, and students can request credits recognition, but modifications are not permitted.
