The university program is part of the "Recurrent Education Promotion Project for Immediate Human Resource Development in Growth Fields" adopted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in the fiscal year 2022.
Guideline for Recruitment
Recruitment Period
The recruitment period is from May 1, 2024, to June 15, 2024, which has been extended to June 22, 2024.
Target Applicants
The program is targeted at school teachers and those who hold a teacher's license.
Number of Applicants
The program aims to recruit approximately 40 students.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fee is 60,000 yen, but it is free for students enrolled in the Graduate School of Education (Professional Graduate School).
Program Duration
The program duration is from August 2024 to March 2025, consisting of 5 courses and a total of 60 hours. In cases where students are unable to complete the required hours due to unavoidable circumstances, the program may be extended to the next academic year.
Completion Requirements
To complete the program, students must finish 60 hours of coursework, including "Education for Children Connected to Foreign Countries I-IV" (48 hours) and "Education Practice Research" (12 hours). Upon completion, students will be awarded a certificate of completion in accordance with the School Education Law. For teachers in Kumamoto Prefecture and City (including those enrolled in the Graduate School of Education), the program will provide information on completion to the Prefectural and City Boards of Education, and assist with recording the completion in their training history.
Notes
- For teachers in Kumamoto City, the attendance on weekdays may be considered as "off-campus duty" and should be discussed with the school principal.
- For teachers in Kumamoto Prefecture, inquiries about tuition fee subsidies should be directed to the Kumamoto Prefectural Board of Education.
