Master of Integrative Medicine
The Master of Integrative Medicine is a postgraduate degree that focuses on the principles and practices of integrative health care. This model of healthcare emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary teams working together to understand and address the complex factors that contribute to illness in each individual. Patients are central to this approach, remaining active participants in co-designing and managing their care.
Overview
The Master of Integrative Medicine assists practitioners in confidently practicing in integrative health care teams and settings. It equips them with the knowledge and skills to prescribe interventions that facilitate behavior change, supporting the prevention and management of chronic disease and improving patient outcomes. The course is taught by leaders in the field and uses an evidence-based approach to examine the principles and practices of integrative medicine.

Upon completion of the Master of Integrative Medicine, graduates will possess the following attributes:

Placements, Work Experience, and Study Hours
Students are required to complete a 24-hour observation placement at the end of their degree. This Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunity will be undertaken within an integrative health care setting, enabling students to consolidate their understanding of Integrative Medicine in a real-life context.

Requirements
To be eligible for the Master of Integrative Medicine, applicants must have:
- An Australian equivalent Bachelor degree in a clinical health discipline
- Two years of documented, relevant clinical experience
Entry Requirements
- Language requirements: English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this course are:
- Overall: 6.5
- Listening: minimum 6.0
- Speaking: minimum 6.0
- Reading: minimum 6.0
- Writing: minimum 6.0
Course Requirements
To be eligible to receive the Master of Integrative Medicine, students must complete the equivalent of 8 units (96 credit points), comprising:
- 7 core units (84 credit points)
- 1 option unit (12 credit points)

- HLTH6001 - Human Microbiome and Health
- HLTH6004 - Psychological & Environmental Influences on Health
- HLTH6002 - Metabolic Health and Management
- HLTH6006 - Principles and Practice of Integrative Health Care: Application
And one of the following option units:
- NATM6005 - Integrative Mental Health
- NATM5003 - Integrative Gastroenterology
- NATM5006 - Integrative Women's Health
Each unit has specific requirements, pre-requisites, and enrolment information that must be adhered to. Some units contain Work Integrated Learning (WIL) that requires students to meet mandatory fit-to-practice obligations prior to attending. Failure to comply by the fit-to-practice deadline will result in the cancellation of the WIL, and the student will not be permitted to continue in the unit.
