Unit Description

Landscape Processes is an interdisciplinary unit that explores key geomorphic and hydrologic processes that shape the Earth's surface. By examining these processes and their driving mechanisms, the forces that give rise to diverse landforms and ecosystems are revealed. Students will gain insight into how landscapes evolve over time, the role of climate in driving landscape and environmental change, and the interconnectedness of surface and subsurface processes. This unit prepares students to critically evaluate landscapes and engage in sustainable management practices for land and water resources.

  • Apply quantitative approaches for measuring and assessing surface and groundwater dynamics.
