Unit Description

This unit examines occupational performance limitations as a result of musculoskeletal and systemic impairments impacting on biomechanical performance and energy levels. Students will learn the theory and practice of occupational therapy assessment and intervention for occupational performance limitations associated with musculoskeletal impairments and be able to articulate professional reasoning underpinning their practice.

3. Assessments for traumatic injuries to the hand
4. Interventions for traumatic injuries to the hand
5. Assessment and intervention for spinal cord injuries

• develop strategies to address occupational performance issues for people living with musculoskeletal and systemic impairments supported by evidence-based practice and professional reasoning
• demonstrate effective occupational therapy skills to address musculoskeletal and systemic impairments
