Program Overview


Bachelor of Business in International Hospitality Management

The Bachelor of Business in International Hospitality Management is designed to give students business and hospitality management skills to enable them to pursue a career as an industry leader at a national or international level.


Course Overview

This course combines theory with practical industry-based experience and the opportunity to develop professional networks. It is only available at MDIS, Singapore. Graduates will be highly qualified to meet the challenges associated with working for or operating a hospitality business.

Placements, Work Experience, and Study Hours

An internship program, which counts as four units of the degree, provides students in their final study session with a block of practical workplace experience in a hospitality, event or tourism organisation in Australia or overseas. Students also have the option to undertake a research-based project.


Specialisations, Majors, and Minors

There are two majors available in this course:


  • Gaming: Covers the key issues in managing gaming venues including the basic principles behind game design, utilising new technology, engaging with the community and strategically planning the future of the gaming business.
  • Hotels and Resorts: Aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to manage and promote a hospitality organisation or operation.

Availability and Fees

The course is available at MDIS, Singapore, and Uzbekistan - MDIS Tashkent. Tuition fees are in Australian dollars and are subject to change.


Requirements

To be eligible for the award of Bachelor of Business in International Hospitality Management, a candidate shall successfully complete twenty-four (24) units (288 credit points) comprising:


  • All units listed in Part A
  • All units listed in Part B
  • One (1) eight-unit major listed in Part C

Entry Requirements

Candidates who have successfully completed the requirements of the Associate Degree of Business in International Hospitality Management at this University, may be granted advanced standing for up to sixteen (16) units towards the Bachelor of Business in International Hospitality Management. The School Board may grant advanced standing of up to sixteen (16) units, provided that a maximum of four (4) units are counted towards Intern Study and a maximum of twelve (12) units are counted towards units other than Intern Study.
