Unit Description

Designed as a staged thesis unit for the Arts and Media Honours Programs, students have the opportunity to complete either a thesis or a creative project and exegesis under the guidance of a supervisor. This unit is the first of a series of thesis units for the Arts and Media Honours Programs (the other units in the series are COM40007, COM40008).


Unit Content

With guidance from an academic supervisor, students will typically cover the following topics during the completion of COM40006-8:


  • Planning and conducting a research project
  • Relevant methodologies
  • Literature review
  • Thesis planning
  • Conducting the research project
  • Writing a draft thesis OR developing a creative OR performance piece with exegesis
  • Writing the thesis OR production of the creative work OR performance in conjunction with completing the associated exegesis
