Unit Description
This unit introduces students to concepts and practices of design in fine art and compositional arrangement. It examines traditional through to current trends in design, including electronic drawing and capture, composition, aesthetics, typography, and the integration into art. Critical evaluative skills of their own work and the work of others are reviewed and developed.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
- create designs appropriate to fine art and design
- demonstrate basic technical skills in digital image making
- demonstrate basic skills in integrating typographic and pictorial imagery
