Course Objective
The objective of this course is to acquire knowledge, skills, and academic abilities in the field of modern printing techniques, as a phase of graphic production in which the printing process produces a print on various substrates.
Course Outcome
After completing this course, students will be able to:
- Engage in scientific research work and participate in research related to modern printing techniques
- Apply scientific methods in the field of graphic engineering and design
- Demonstrate critical and self-critical thinking and approach in the field of modern printing techniques
- Design new solutions to engineering problems
Course Content
The course covers the following topics:
- Offset printing: tabular and rotary offset printing, printing aggregate - unit for printing, moistening, and coloring in offset printing
- Digital printing: digitization and printing processes, printing processes without printing forms, development of digital printing, digital test print, NIP technologies
- Electrophotography: electrophotography with dry toner, electrophotography with liquid toner, ROS, LED, DMD, lighting systems, dry toners, liquid toners
- Ink Jet: Continuous Ink Jet, Drop on Demand Ink Jet, Piezo, Thermal, Electrostatic Ink Jet
- Magnetography, Ionography, Thermography, Photography, X-ray, Electrography, Toner Jet Technology, Nanography
- Toners, colors for digital printing, substrates for digital printing, development of digital printing devices
Teaching Methods
The course is taught through lectures and research work. Lectures cover the theoretical part of the material, and research work involves active monitoring and study of primary scientific sources, numerical simulations, and experiments.
