Course Objectives:
The objective of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of motors with internal combustion and the safety aspects of their exploitation.
Course Outcomes:
Upon completing this course, students will be able to apply their knowledge and skills in the field of motors with internal combustion and safety aspects of their exploitation.
Course Content:
The course covers the historical development and classification of internal combustion engines, definitions and basic concepts, description of main parts and systems of internal combustion engines, safety aspects during engine operation, properties of fuels and lubricants, physical-chemical properties of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and potential hazards in working with it, physical-chemical properties of natural gas and potential hazards in working with it, classification of systems for supplying internal combustion engines with LPG and compressed natural gas, principles of operation of different generations of systems for supplying internal combustion engines with LPG and compressed natural gas, specificities of individual components of systems for supplying internal combustion engines with LPG and compressed natural gas, legal regulations regarding devices and equipment for driving vehicles on LPG and compressed natural gas.
Teaching Methods:
The course is taught through lectures, which include oral presentations accompanied by relevant images, diagrams, schemes, and video material projected onto a screen using a computer and a beamer. Auditorium exercises include calculation and demonstration exercises, while laboratory exercises are conducted in a laboratory on specific vehicles and engines.
