Certificate in Land Surveying

The Certificate in Land Surveying is designed to prepare surveyors with the basic education necessary to take the Fundamentals of Land Surveying Exam and meets the State of Georgia academic registration requirements to become a Professional Land Surveyor.

Preparing Surveyors for Land Surveying

The Land Surveying Certificate - Stand-Alone and Embedded - is designed to provide students with the necessary education to pursue a career in land surveying. Students are advised to consult with an academic advisor regarding course prerequisites.

Land Surveying Certificate Application Requirements

To be admitted to the Land Surveying certificate program, students must follow the application requirements outlined below:

• If pursuing only the Land Surveying certificate (and not a degree at KSU), students should apply as follows:
  • If they do not hold a bachelor's degree, they should apply as an "Adult/Non-Traditional" student.
  • If they hold a bachelor's degree, they should apply as a "Transfer" student.
• The application process involves:
  1. Applying through the standard application.
  2. Selecting the appropriate application type (Adult/Non-Traditional or Transfer).
  3. Selecting "Certificate" as the degree type.
  4. Selecting the Land Surveying certificate from the list.
• Students must meet admission requirements, including submitting all college transcripts.

Program Details

The Land Surveying Certificate program is designed to provide students with the necessary education to take the Fundamentals of Land Surveying Exam. For more information on specific classes, students can refer to the KSU Undergraduate Catalog. Undergraduate students will need to be admitted as regular students and select the certificate they wish to pursue. Students already admitted need to select the certificate they would like to pursue in the change/major application.
