Dual Enrollment Program

The Dual Enrollment Program at Kennesaw State University provides students enrolled in an eligible public or private high school or home study program in Georgia with the opportunity to earn high school and college credit at a participating eligible postsecondary institution in Georgia.


Program Description

Georgia's Dual Enrollment Program offers students the chance to experience college courses and begin their college academic career while still in high school. The program provides for standard tuition, mandatory fees, and required books. Dual enrollment students are ineligible to enroll for seats that have been reserved for other students, such as those designated for honor students or new first-year college students.


Admission Requirements

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA with qualifying test scores
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA test optional (recalculated by KSU in 17 units of required high school coursework)
  • Students must meet the postsecondary institution's Georgia Residency requirements
  • Students must meet U.S. citizenship or eligible non-citizen requirements
  • A student must be enrolled in and physically attending a participating eligible public or private high school in Georgia or an eligible participating home study program in Georgia
  • A student must be approved by the participating high school or home study program to participate in dual enrollment

Age/Grade Level Requirements

10th Grade

  • Successful completion of the 9th grade is required
  • Completion of Algebra II is required to enroll in College Algebra
  • Minimum SAT score of 1200 or minimum ACT composite score of 26 in a single national test administration

11th and 12th Grade

  • Successful completion of the 10th grade is required
  • Completion of Algebra II is required to enroll in College Algebra

Testing Requirements

  • 10th Grade: SAT composite score of 1200 or ACT composite score of 26
  • 11th and 12th Grade:
    • SAT: 480 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, 440 Math
    • ACT: 17 English or Reading, 17 Math
    • Accuplacer: 237 Reading, 4 WritePlacer, 258 Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics

Dual Enrollment Funding Eligibility Requirements

  • Beginning Summer 2026, students must meet Georgia Residency requirements to qualify for Dual Enrollment funding for eligible courses
  • Students must meet U.S. citizenship or eligible non-citizen requirements
  • Supporting documentation may be required by the college or university

Home Educated Students

  • Must document required high school curriculum units through submission of a curriculum packet
  • Must meet accreditation requirements from recognized accrediting bodies
  • Must complete additional steps for non-accredited homeschools, including:
    1. Completing the application
    2. Setting up a NetID
    3. Completing the homeschool portfolio with required documents
    4. Submitting official SAT or ACT scores
    5. Submitting official college transcripts
