Certificate in Software Engineering Foundations - Graduate
The Graduate Certificate in Software Engineering Foundations is intended to provide a computer science foundation-building opportunity to students who do not have an undergraduate degree in the discipline. Throughout the certificate program, students will be able to develop a breadth of knowledge across computer science subjects, essential to pursue a career in the relevant fields or to continue graduate study in the Master of Science in Software Engineering (MSSWE) program. The MSSWE admissions committee may conditionally admit applicants lacking foundational knowledge in computer science, with the requirement to take some courses from this certificate program.

The Graduate Certificate in Software Engineering Foundations assumes that students do not have a significant background in computing. It both deepens and broadens their knowledge of computing and prepares them for positions of more responsibility in the computing industry, as well as for further postgraduate studies. Students interested in the Graduate Certificate will typically not have a first degree in computing.
