Campus Emergency Response Team (CERT)
The Campus Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a critical program aimed at engaging the Kennesaw State University community in making their communities safer, more prepared, and more resilient when incidents occur. CERT is a nationwide training program supported by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Kennesaw State University's Department of Public Safety and the Office of Emergency Management actively support the expansion of CERT training at both the Kennesaw and Marietta Campuses. Kennesaw State is one of only three universities in the State of Georgia to have a federally-recognized CERT team.
CERT Training
CERT training consists of a 21-hour training course that can be taken through the Center for University Learning at Kennesaw State University. This training is open to students, faculty, and staff, as well as others from the surrounding community. Courses are taught each semester on campus by the Office of Emergency Management and supporting personnel and agencies.

Kennesaw State University's CERT program is designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond to emergencies and disasters in their communities. The program is supported by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and is one of only a few federally-recognized CERT teams in the state of Georgia.
