Introduction to STRIVE
The Startup Training Resources to Inspire Veteran Entrepreneurship (STRIVE) program is a proven initiative created by Syracuse University's Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF). Kennesaw State University is proud to partner with Syracuse, leveraging the skills, resources, and infrastructure of higher education institutions to empower military families.
Program Overview
STRIVE exists to open the door to economic opportunity for veterans and military family members by equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and connections to succeed in business. Whether participants are just starting or looking to strengthen their early-stage venture, STRIVE is designed to help them build their future.
What is STRIVE?
STRIVE is a free, hands-on, three-phase program that helps people overcome challenges and develop the skills needed to launch and grow successful businesses. Through expert training, mentorship, and a supportive community, STRIVE empowers military families to create economic opportunities and achieve entrepreneurial success.
Eligibility
This program is open to:
- Veterans
- Active-duty military
- National Guard
- Reservists
- Military spouses
Program Benefits
Participants will receive:
- Targeted training designed specifically for veteran and military-connected entrepreneurs
- Access to local and national networks of veteran business owners, mentors, and experts
- Guidance on customer discovery, funding, financial planning, marketing, and more
- A supportive community that understands the unique challenges faced by military entrepreneurs
- Opportunities to pitch their business and gain valuable feedback
Class Details
- Online Orientation: September 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM 8:30 PM
- In-Person Sessions: Weekly classes from September 9 through November 4, 2025
- Location: All in-person classes will be held at the HatchBridge Incubator
- Dinner and materials will be provided at all sessions
