EUGiM Gender Medicine 2009 2011

The EUGiM project was an Erasmus Curriculum Development Project that aimed to develop two training modules for integrating Gender Medicine into the regular medical curriculum. The project involved seven partner universities from six European countries and resulted in the development of a study concept and a manual for implementing Gender Medicine in medical education.


Program Details

The 秺K-Diplom Gender Medicine program is led by Univ.-Prof.in Dr.in Margarethe Hochleitner, and the modules can be attended individually or as part of the diploma program. The program is worth 160 DFP (Diploma Fortbildungspunkte), and individual modules are worth 16 DFP.


Target Group

The 秺K-Diplom Gender Medicine program is designed for physicians and medical professionals, particularly those working in general medicine and specialized fields.


Objectives

The program aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the current state of research in Gender Medicine, including:


  • The current evidence-based research in Gender Medicine
  • The impact of Gender Medicine on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment for women and men
  • The importance of gender-sensitive communication with patients
  • The ability to address the specific needs of women and men in medical conversations

Organization and Participation

The program consists of 10 two-day modules, which can be attended in person or online. The modules are held on Fridays and Saturdays, from 9:00 to 18:00. Participants can attend individual modules or the entire program, and the diploma is awarded upon completion of all modules.
