Program Overview

The 4th Program: Skiing Companion as TYDA is designed for individuals who wish to acquire technical, pedagogical, and organizational skills in skiing to safely guide groups in snow-covered environments. The program enables participants to ski with ease, guide clients/tourists of basic and intermediate levels, and create positive, entertaining winter tourism experiences on controlled slopes.


Program Objective

The objective of the program is to train participants, under the supervision of an experienced instructor, to:


  • Safely guide groups of clients/tourists on slopes of minor difficulty
  • Teach basic skiing techniques and improve individual skills
  • Recognize risks and apply safety rules in ski centers
  • Design and implement recreational activities and games in a snow-covered environment

Program Structure and Content

Practical Training in the Field

  • Knowledge, selection, and maintenance of skiing equipment
  • Methodology of learning to ski: from introductory to advanced levels
  • Turning techniques (snowplow, parallel, carving)
  • Technique and use of ski poles
  • Observation, evaluation, and corrective interventions in clients'/tourists' techniques
  • Application of safety rules and understanding of risks in the field
  • Organization and implementation of recreational activities in the snow

Theoretical Training

  • Regulations for the operation of ski centers
  • Planning of daily programs
  • Dealing with problems due to low temperatures
  • Development of communication/interpersonal skills and group management
  • Plan for dealing with emergency situations (injuries, bad weather)

Practical Exercise

Supervised participation in a number of programs under real conditions of guiding groups in downhill skiing, under the supervision of an instructor.


First Aid

Information and training in basic skills for providing first aid and managing emergency situations in the snow-covered field.


Field of Application

  • Controlled slopes of minor or medium difficulty (green, blue, red)
  • Activities within a ski center, under safe conditions

Outcome of Training

Upon completion of the training program in downhill skiing as TYDA, participants acquire substantial skills and knowledge that enhance their profile as future professionals, while upgrading their position in the labor market in the dynamically developing sector of thematic and active outdoor tourism in our country.
