Program Overview
Introduction to the Accelerated CCNA and CyberOps Program
The University of Thessaly's Center for Lifelong Learning invites you to the educational program titled "Accelerated CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)" which is offered in conjunction with the "Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate Cybersecurity" program. The total duration of the program is 408 hours, consisting of 152 hours of synchronous distance learning and 256 hours of asynchronous learning for studying educational material.
Program Structure
- The "Accelerated CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)" program lasts for 232 hours, comprising 92 teaching hours and 140 hours of asynchronous learning for studying educational material and supervising laboratory exercises practical training.
- The "Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate Cybersecurity" program lasts for 176 hours, comprising 60 teaching hours and 116 hours of asynchronous learning for studying educational material and supervising laboratory exercises practical training.
- The program will be completed within 9 months.
- Successful completion of the training program leads to the acquisition of a Specialized Training Certificate from the University of Thessaly's Center for Lifelong Learning.
Program Objectives
Accelerated CCNA
The "Accelerated CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)" program provides modern specialized knowledge in the installation, operation, and maintenance of computer networks and prepares students for the acquisition of the Cisco Certified Network Associate certification offered by Cisco Systems. Upon completion of the program, trainees will be able to design, implement, and maintain small and medium-sized networks and have the necessary knowledge to successfully participate in the Cisco Certified Network Associate certification exams.
Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate
The "Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate Cybersecurity" program provides basic skills and knowledge necessary for individuals to start their career in cybersecurity enterprises. The program helps trainees become valuable members of the Security Operations Center (SOC) and prepares them for the acquisition of the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate certification offered by Cisco Systems.
Training Methodology
The program utilizes e-learning techniques, allowing trainees to attend the program remotely. The training is based on the principles of mixed-mode specialization programs and lifelong learning and includes:
- Synchronous distance education with the participation of trainees through teleconferencing processes.
- Asynchronous education, where educational material is provided to all trainees in a flexible and personalized manner.
Admission Criteria
The program is addressed to students or graduates of senior high schools, vocational training institutes, and universities. The selection of trainees will be based on a strict priority order due to the limited number of participation positions.

Scientific Responsibility
The scientific responsible for the program is Mr. Apostolos Xenakis, Assistant Professor of the Department of Digital Systems at the University of Thessaly, who is responsible for the design, implementation, and monitoring of the academic process of the specific training program.
Trainers
The trainers in the program are certified Cisco Academy Instructors and have specialized in Cisco Systems (Brussels) and the Cisco Networking Academy Training Center (Athens).
Certificate of Completion
All trainees who successfully complete the program will receive a discount coupon for one CCNA exam and one CBROPS exam at any Pearson VUE testing center from the Cisco Academy.
