Computer and Internet Certificate (C2i) - Pix
Program Overview
Introduction to University Programs
The certification of digital skills concerns the reasonable, autonomous, and responsible use of digital technologies to effectively perform a task in a given situation, particularly in study situations, for initial training and lifelong learning, or in the exercise of a profession. Mastering these skills facilitates integration into a highly digitized professional world.
Digital Skills Certification
The certification is based on the European reference framework DIGCOMP, which allows individuals to measure their digital skills and obtain a competence profile in five areas:
- Information and data
- Communication and collaboration
- Content creation
- Protection and security
- Digital environment
Certification Levels
Five levels of competence are currently being evaluated, with plans to expand to eight levels in the future, based on a global score of 1024 Pix. The evaluations assess knowledge, skills, and the ability to identify digital challenges.
Evaluation Methods
Innovative evaluation methods are proposed, going beyond the traditional multiple-choice question (MCQ) format, including:
- Interactions
- File manipulation
- Problem-solving
University Program Details
The Suptice (University Service for Pedagogy and Digital Technologies) is responsible for piloting and implementing a digital skills training program for students at the University of Rennes. The program is coordinated by a team of trainers who provide training sessions for students and evaluation sessions leading to certification.
C2i Certification
The C2i (Computer and Internet Certificate) is a national certification that was implemented from 2002 to 2019 to develop, strengthen, validate, and attest to the skills necessary for mastering information and communication technologies. Although it has been replaced by Pix, students who have validated the C2i can still highlight this skill in their profiles.
C2i Level 1 and Level 2
- C2i Level 1: This certification has been replaced by Pix, but students who have obtained it can still include it in their profiles.
- Note: There is no equivalence between the C2i and Pix certifications.
- C2i Level 2: This specialized certification, according to domain, is also expected to be replaced by an advanced form of Pix. It is currently being experimented with in certain disciplines at a few institutions before being extended to the entire territory.
