Program Overview

Master's Program in Management

The Master's program in Management is a four-semester full-time program designed to provide students with theoretically founded knowledge of central concepts and methods, as well as practice-oriented competencies with a strong application focus.

Study Plan & Curriculum

  • The study plan 2026 is valid for all students who are admitted for the first time in the winter semester 2026/27 and for those who switch from the 2014 study plan to the 2026 study plan.
  • The study plan 2014 is a phased-out study plan valid for all students who were admitted before the winter semester 2025/26.

Competence Distribution

The program is based on the following competence distribution:

  • General Management Competence: Imparting universally applicable business administration practice knowledge on positioning, control, decision-making, and leadership.
  • Special Management Competence: Interdisciplinary and in-depth scientific examination of leadership and management processes.
  • Social Competence: Building influence knowledge to activate individuals and groups, as well as promoting team and personality development.
  • Project Competence: Enabling independent scientific work and the targeted implementation of projects within a defined timeframe.
  • Context Knowledge: Understanding the historical, geographical, economic, and legal framework conditions of management.

Teaching and Learning Methods

A variety of teaching and learning methods are used throughout the program, promoting experiential learning and close ties between theory and practice. These include:

  • Computer simulations
  • Case studies
  • Indoor and outdoor team exercises
  • Structured feedback loops
  • Writing scientific papers
  • Involvement of practitioners

The didactic concept is complemented by innovative teaching formats. For example, in the elective subject "Sustainable Development," learning modules are developed to strengthen the understanding of sustainability among students at general and vocational higher schools. This project was awarded the "Education for Sustainable Development BEST OF AUSTRIA" by the responsible ministry.
